Pleistocene Man at Calico, 1972

Frontispiece
"I should naturally have preferred to take a non-controversial subject, if such could be found, which would have been pleasing to all, rather than a subject of heated controversy which cannot be other than displeasing to some. But in view of the tendencies of the moment, the need for again pleading to comparative study of these evidences seems to me so urgently insistent that it could not be denied. One must be true to whatever one feels assured to be the truth. No other considerations can seriously count against the establishment of the truth. And that we may ultimately establish the whole truth, let us be sure that the foundation we a building upon shall consist of nothing but the truth."-

Hazeldine Warren -(Quoted by Dr. F. Clark Howell, UC Berkeley, at the 3rd Conference Session)
